NEB 2012-2015 National Executive Board At the 2012 SAI National Convention in Atlanta, delegates elected new officers for the National Executive Board, in addition to Regional Officers and Province Officers. Look for the updated listing of all these offices in the Fall 2012 PAN PIPES. Leslie Odom Miller, DMA National President Leslie Odom Miller is Associate Professor of Oboe and Theory at the University of Florida. A third generation SAI, Leslie was initiated into the Zeta Chapter at Butler University and is the recipient of the Sword of Honor, the Rose of Honor, the Diamond Sword of Honor and the Ring of Excellence. She served as Lambda B Province Officer prior to her work as National Vice President, Collegiate Chapters (1997-2000). Leslie also served as the Director of Listservs (2003-2006). Leslie received her Doctorate of Musical Arts in Oboe Performance and Literature and her Master's of Music in Music Theory from the Sue Bermann National Vice President, Alumnae Chapters Sue Bermann will be serving her first term in this office. She earned her Bachelor's of Music in Music History from the University of Miami. A Sigma Chi initiate, she earned her Master's in Library Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and is the head of Cataloging for Palm Beach County Library System in West Palm Beach, FL. During their early married years Sue, her husband, and daughters moved often and wherever they settled, SAI was there. They lived in Bloomington, IN (where her husband studied for his master's degree in trombone performance), moved to Knoxville, TN (by way of Venezuela), Jennifer M. Zerangue National Vice President, Finance Re-elected for a second term, Jennifer M. Zerangue is an initiate of the Iota Omicron Chapter at the University of Louisiana where she earned both her Bachelor's in Accounting and her Master's in Business Administration. Jennifer was awarded an undergraduate scholarship by SAI Philanthropies, Inc. She also served as chapter treasurer where she was able to obtain a grant through SAI Philanthropies, Inc. for her chapter's annual service project. She was awarded the National Collegiate Treasurer's Award at the 2003 Centennial Convention in Dearborn, MI. Jennifer went on to serve as president of her collegiate chapter and was awarded the National Collegiate Leadership Award and both the Sword of Honor and Ruby Sword of Honor. Upon graduating, 8 PAN PIPESSUMMER 2012 sai-national.org Eastman School of Music. While at Eastman, she studied with Richard Killmer and received the coveted Performer's Certificate. Leslie has performed extensively as a solo artist throughout North and South America and Europe. She has performed as principal oboe in the Cedar Rapids Symphony, principal oboe on the 1988 CBS Masterworks recording with the Eastman Wind Ensemble, as well as section oboe and English horn with the Indianapolis Symphony, and the Jacksonville, Florida Symphony. She has also participated in the Aspen and Tanglewood Music Festivals. Leslie was a visiting artist during the 1996 summer session at the Banff Centre for the Arts and was on faculty at the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Michigan during the 2002 summer. Leslie performs with the Gainesville Symphony Orchestra as principal oboe. She is a member of the International Double Reed Society and Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honorary. and finally settled in West Palm Beach. Sue served the Bloomington, Knoxville, and Ft. Lauderdale alumnae chapters and held all offices except treasurer. Soon after moving to West Palm Beach in 1990, Sue became Province Officer for Lambda A, a position she held for seven years. In 2006, she was asked to again serve as Lambda A PO. Between province officer stints, Sue maintained her membership in the Ft. Lauderdale Alumnae Chapter. Sue has received the College Honor Award, the Sword of Honor, the Ruby Sword of Honor, the Rose of Honor and the Rose of Dedication. In addition to being a professional librarian, Sue is also a professional violinist. Most recently she's performed as a member of the Florida Grand Opera and the Miami City Ballet orchestras. In the pops orchestra field, she has performed with countless artists from Maureen McGovern to the Smothers Brothers and even The Moody Blues. Sue is married and has two grown daughters. Her husband, Jim, is a professional bass trombonist and a Friend of the Arts. she also received the Scholastic Award and the Collegiate Honor Award. While pursuing her Master's, Jennifer affiliated with the Lafayette Alumnae chapter, serving two years as the chapter's Vice President of Ritual. In 2006, Jennifer was elected Omega A Province Officer. Jennifer has served as the National Vice President, Finance, since 2009. Currently residing in Lafayette, LA, she has been a member of the local community band and has volunteered in her local church choir. Jennifer is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of Louisiana. She is a senior auditor at Postlethwaite & Netterville, named as one of the top 100 firms in the U.S. in 2011 by INSIDE Public Accounting magazine. She is a member of the Louisiana Society of Certified Public Accountants, serving as Chair of the Young CPA Board. She is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants where she serves on the National Governmental and Not-for-Profit Training Program Conference Planning Committee and is a graduate of the 2011 AICPA Leadership Conference.
