" The Healing Power of Music" 2012 National Convention I SAI 2012 Nominating Committee Process n accordance with the National Bylaws, National President Elizabeth Nordling appointed a Nominating Committee Chairman prior to October 1, 2011. The chairman, Linda McAlpin, began the process for elections at the 2012 Convention by surveying all current national, regional, and province officers to determine if they are eligible and willing to be considered for the same or another office. Then survey results and Recommendation Forms were mailed to the membership so they could participate in recommending members for the various offices. In January, 2012, all those recommended were sent a Request for Information form due to be returned to the chairman by March 1. President Liz Nordling appointed the following committee: 2012 Nominating Committee Region 1 Sue Larson, San Francisco Peninsula Alumnae Chapter Region 2 Heather Ramsey, Iota Theta Chapter Region 3 Sara Danielson, Des Moines Alumnae Chapter Region 4 Erin Lehnert, Theta Beta Chapter Region 5 Cheryl Hochstetler, Rockford Alumnae Chapter Region 6 Alexandra Bradsher, Iota Tau Chapter Region 7 Rebecca Karos, Winchester Alumnae Chapter Region 8 Dana Kephart, Eta Mu Chapter Retiring Regional Officer Aileen Todd, Region 2 RO Retiring Province Officer Jennie Ross, Alpha A PO Fraternity Director Michelle Juon, International Chapter Chairman Linda McAlpin, Philadelphia Alumnae Chapter The Nominating Committee was charged to study carefully each Request for Information form with regard to experience, background, and a personal statement from each recommended person regarding her qualifications for the position and projected goals if elected. The chairman had conference calls with all members of the committee to discuss the proposed candidates' information forms and performance reviews if they are current officers. After careful consideration and deliberation of all names submitted by the membership, the Nominating Committee members determined whom they considered to be the most qualified candidates for each of the offices at this time and therefore present this Slate of Officers for Sigma Alpha Iota for 2012. There is an opportunity for nominations from the floor at Convention. Because there are pending amendments to the National Bylaws, these offices are being presented with the proposed new titles. The members of the Nominating Committee are honored to have had this opportunity to serve Sigma Alpha Iota in this important aspect of the election process. Linda S.
