Katheri ne Le J eune K Epsilon ChI, Rho B, Region IV atherine LeJeune of the Epsilon Chi Chapter is a recipient of the 2013 National Outstanding Collegiate Treasurer Award. The chapter's nomination noted Katherine's work to form a strong financial system for future treasurers of the chapter. She worked with members to collect dues payments and gave regular reports to the chapter during business meetings. Katherine met monthly with the chapter's advisor to review bank statements and monthly treasurer reports, while also keeping her Province Officer updated on the chapter's financial status. The chapter's nomination notes that Katherine's hard work and strength were apparent, but "not to be overlooked is her kind hear which she revealed in all that she did" for the chapter. After serving as chapter treasurer during the 2012-2013 school year, Katherine is currently a student in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University, Starkville, MS. Ja sm i ne Pa rnell Delta NU, Iota A , Region VIII J asmine Parnell of the Delta Nu Chapter is a recipient of the 2013 National Outstanding Collegiate Treasurer Award. When assuming the office of chapter treasurer, Jasmine noted the chapter's growing debt to National Headquarters. Determined to turn the chapter's financial status around, Jasmine worked to update the chapter's financial records, generate new fundraising ideas for the chapter, and helped the chapter pay over $800 in debt in one year! Jasmine's work with the chapter members, advisors, and Province Officer helped the chapter reach a zero balance in time to have a delegate at the 2012 National Convention. Jasmine was approved for a second term as chapter treasurer during the 2012-2013 school year, where she continued to build the chapter's financial records and helped to prepare the next chapter treasurer. Jasmine graduated from Howard University in Spring 2013. • col l e gi ate s ervi c e PRO J ECT Awa r d • Category I (1-20 members) Lam bda Phi T T T Universit y of Massachuset ts/Amherst, Phi B, Region VIII he Lambda Phi Chapter gave their school's music building a much needed face lift. They worked for two years to receive approval and purchased supplies to update the practice rooms. All chapter members and MITs spent thirty-six hours over a weekend in April painting and detailing twenty practice rooms and the adjoining hallways of the university's music building. Category II (21-35 members) The ta The ta Nicholls State universit y, Omega C, Region IV he Theta Theta Chapter organized and held a Doctor's Talent Show to raise funds for the restoration of the university's Mary M. Danos Theater. All aspects of the event were handled by the chapter - gaining sponsorship, contacting performers, designing the program, creating publicity, running the sound booth, and acting as stage crew. The event showcased performances by medical professionals from the surrounding area and raised $860 for the renovation project. Category III (36+ members) E p si lon Lam bda Belmont universit y, Psi B, Region VII he Epsilon Lambda Chapter at Belmont University, in Region 7, Psi B Province, collaborated with Nashville's McNeilly Center for Children, which provides childcare and after-school programming for low income families. The chapter made monthly visits to teach music during the after-school program, using lesson plans created by its members.
