SAI Philanthropies, Inc. PFA Honors SAI for Bold Notes, Community Service Bold Notes Project Director Arlene Jospe Veron accepted the Outstanding Professional Program of the Year 2012-2013 Award from the Professional Fraternity Association in September. O ver the weekend of Sept. 7-9, Arlene Jospe Veron, former Chairman of SAI Philanthropies, Inc. was flown to St. Louis, MO, to receive a prestigious award from the Professional Fraternity Association (PFA) for the Bold Notes Project as the "Outstanding Professional Program of the Year 2012-2013." PFA held their 2013 annual conference at the Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark. Arlene was honored during the Sunday luncheon with approximately 120 people in attendance, receiving a beautiful plaque commemorating this occasion. On behalf of SAI Philanthropies, Inc. she gratefully acknowledged this award and explained how the project evolved, the need it fulfills for the visually impaired and its association with the Library of Congress in Washington, DC. Of the five award winners for 2013, SAI won three awards from the Professional Fraternity Association. In addition to Arlene, Deborah Volker, National VP-Ritual and Fraternity Education, received the "Volunteer of the Year Award" and Nancy DeLeon, incoming President of Kappa Tau Chapter, received the "Outstanding Community Service Award." What a wonderful showing for SAI. Other SAIs in attendance were Elizabeth Nordling, past National President and current PFA President; Leslie Odom Miller, National President; and Ruth Sieber Johnson, Executive Director. Ways You Can Help People-to-People D ear Sisters, The start of the academic year is always an exciting time for collegiate and alumnae members alike. As you and your chapter members plan your season, please consider hosting an event to support the SAI Peopleto-People Project. Here is a short list of possibilities; 1. Perform a musicale to benefit SAI Philanthropies 2. Organize a lightly-used instrument drive 3. Hold a series of bake sales with proceeds to be donated to SAI Philanthropies However you choose to support the SAI People-to-People Project, your first step will be the same; simply contact me at Liana@omegatower.com.
