Dr. Collins earned his Bachelor's of Music in Tuba Performance from Texas Christian University and his Master's and Doctorate of Music in Tuba Performance from the University of Southern California. MarC G. dalIo Marc G. Dalio was initiated as a National Arts Associate by the eta Upsilon Chapter in February. Professor Marc G. Dalio is Coordinator of Musical eatre Studies and Assistant Professor of Voice at New Jersey City University. His stage credits include Gaston and Beast in the Broadway National Tour of Disney's Beauty and the Beast (Best of Denver Award Winner, National Broadway eatre Award Nominee, Metrolina eatre Award Winner), Marius in the Broadway National Tour of Les Miserables , Inter- national Companies of Miss Saigon and Beauty and the Beast, and regional leading roles in Songs for a New World; I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change; Dracula; And the World Goes Round, the American Premiere of Metropolis, West Side Story (Metrolina eatre Award Winner), Pippin, Noises Off, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, e Fantasticks, and Aida. Most recently, Marc was seen in the critically acclaimed South Pacific with the Ritz eatre Company in NJ. As a Director, Musical Director, and Con- ductor, his credits include Little Shop of Horrors, Nunsense, Godspell, Evita, South Pacific, Into the Woods, e 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Cabaret, Guys and Dolls, Avenue Q, and Les Miserables. He conducts workshops and master- classes throughout the United States and abroad and his private students are seen on international stages, regional stages and on Broadway. He is a cum laude graduate of Rowan Uni- versity with a Bachelor's in Vocal Performance and a Bachelor's in Music Education. He received a Master's in Music Education summa cum laude from Boston University. sCott e. eMMons Scott E. Emmons was initiated as a National Arts Associate by the Milwaukee Alumnae Chap- ter in September. Scott E. Emmons, Dean of the Peck School of the Arts at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, began his career as a band director and teacher of general music in Minnesota and Wisconsin. He has taught in the Music Education Department since 1992, specializing in the field of technology in music and music education. Dr. Emmons is a widely sought clinician in the field of technology for music educators. He is one of the founders of the national New Horizons Band for Senior Adults program that offers the opportunity for older adults to be active making music, even if they had no musical experience or distant past experience. He is represented in over 30 books and has authored articles in the Music Educators Journal, Teaching Music Magazine, and the Wisconsin School Musician. Emmons has served frequently as an accreditation evaluator for the National Association of Schools of Music and has guest conducted and presented workshops throughout the United States and in Australia. He also plays the guitar and sings with a local group of men as the Grandsons of the Pioneers and plays the mandocello with a local mandolin orchestra. kurt FoWler Kurt Fowler was initiated as a National Arts Associate by the Iota Beta Chapter in April. Cellist Kurt Fowler has performed through- out the United States, as well as in Europe, as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral musi- cian. He has performed with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and the Syracuse Symphony and has served as principal cellist of the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra, Bear Valley Music Festival, the Green- ville Symphony Orchestra, and the Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also performed at numerous summer festivals including the Bellingham Festival of Music, Aspen Music Fes- tival, Sarasota Music Festival, and the Heidelberg Castle Festival in Heidelberg, Germany. An advocate of contemporary classical music, Dr. Fowler is the Artistic Director of the Indiana State University Contemporary Music Festival and has been active in the commission- ing and performing of new works. In collabora- tion with saxophonist Paul Bro, he has been the recipient of five Indiana State University Arts En- dowment Grants resulting in new works for cello and alto saxophone: "Bid Call" by SAI Member Laureate Libby Larsen, "Walking on Water" by Dorothy Chang, "Temple Fair" by Zhou Long, "Lake Reflecting Stars with Moonrise" by Au- gusta Read omas, and "Fantasia Armorial" by Alexis Bacon.
