PAN PIPES • FALL 2016 • sai-national.org 2 Dear Members of Sigma Alpha Iota, T he Fraternity year begins with the recruitment of new members, sharing our love of music with each other, and continuing the work of SAI. I can feel the excitement in the air as I read in chapter and province newsletters about all of the exciting plans you have for this coming year. In case you missed the big news, our National Convention will be at the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, AZ July 26-30, 2018. I am very excited about this site as it is very family- friendly, has lots of shopping and restaurants within walking distance, and has a restful atmosphere that will enhance our Convention! Please mark these dates in your calendar and start making plans to attend. Let's see if we can set an attendance record for this Convention. My focus for this Fraternity year is: Back to the Basics. What do I mean by this? My goal is to get every chapter back on track, using correct terminology, completing reports by the posted deadline, and following Fraternity procedures and policies. I challenge each and every sister to embrace the meaning of our Ritual, to take its teachings and practice it in our everyday lives. Speak kindly to all sisters; offer to help without being asked; volunteer your time and energy to further SAI's Mission; be part of the solution, not the problem. Think of the amazing things we can do if we take that first step in the right direction. We can make this world better as a united sisterhood. Together as members of Sigma Alpha Iota, we continue to make a difference in the lives around us by bettering the world through the gift of music. Have a wonderful year!
