He also conducts the Amherst Community Band and serves as a student teaching supervisor. e UMass Marching Band has been pushed to new levels since Dr. Anderson became the director in 2010. Notable events include the 87th Macy's anksgiving Day Parade, a performance at Fenway Park, and an invitation to the Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, CA for 2018. Last April, Dr. Anderson shared his research from his doctoral dissertation regarding women in band at Phi A/ Phi B Province Day at UMass Amherst. He holds a Bachelor's of Music from the University of Iowa, a Master of Music from the University of Florida, and a Doctorate in Music Education from the University of Illinois. Dr. Anderson is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and holds honorary memberships in Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma. Before coming to Fresno State, he was a graduate assistant with the University of Illinois bands. Anderson was a frequent clinician with school band programs throughout California. LeAnne Anklan LeAnne Anklan was initiated as a Friend of the Arts by the Louisville Alumnae Chapter in March. She has been involved in the creative and artistic fields in Cincinnati for all her life. Anklan's professional background includes experience as senior marketing coordinator for FRCH Design Worldwide, public relations manager for the Contemporary Arts Center, and marketing associate for the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra. Most recently, she held the position of festival manager for the successful inaugural season of the Constella Festival of Music and Fine Arts. Anklan joined the Cincinnati Community Orchestra in 2012 as artistic and orchestra operations manager. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and International Business, Master of Business Administration, and Master of Arts in Arts Administration from the University of Cincinnati (UC). She serves as vice president of the Board of the not-for-profit Cincinnati Contemporary Jazz Orchestra, which she co- founded. She is also a Board member of Cincy Emerging Arts Leaders. A lifelong musician, she also serves as president of the UC Band Alumni Association and plays flute and piccolo regularly with the Alumni and Community Bands at UC. Dr. Adam Hudlow Dr. Adam Hudlow was initiated as a Friend of the Arts in November by the Beta Iota Chapter in Northwestern State University. He earned his Bachelor's in Trumpet Performance magna cum laude from Northwestern State University, his Master's in Music eory from the University of Houston, and his Doctorate in Music eory from Louisiana State University. He previously taught at Louisiana State University, the University of Houston, and the Katy (TX) Independent School District. He has presented materials at the 2nd Biennial LSU Music Colloquium, South Central Society for Music eory, and the New Orleans Musicology eory Colloquium. As a trumpet player, he performs recitals and concerts. He is a member of the Society for Music eory, South Central Society for Music eory, and the Texas Society for Music eory. He is a member of both Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and Kappa Kappa Psi. Dr. Eric Knechtges Dr. Eric Knechtges was initiated as a Friend of the Arts in February by the Eta Psi Chapter at Northern Kentucky University. Dr. Knechtges is the Assistant Professor and Coordinator of Music Theory, Aural Skills, and Composition at Northern Kentucky University. Dr. Knechtges has received many awards, commissioned pieces, and his works have been played at conferences throughout the United States. Some of these accomplishments include Third Prize in the 2013 Doc Severinsen International Composition Competition, and participation in the 2014 Vox Novus "Fifteen Seconds of Fame" Call for Scores. Dr. Knechtges is a member of the Society of Music Theory, College Music Society, Society of Composers International, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He is the faculty advisor for the Xi Lambda Chapter at Northern Kentucky University, in which he actively participates. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Michigan State University, a Master's from Bowling Green State University, and a Doctorate from The Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. His composition for band, Broken Silents, was recognized for Special Distinction in the second annual ASCAP/ CBDNA Frederick Fennell Competition. He has been recognized in the National Bandmaster's Association Young Composers Mentor Project, the NACUSA Young Composer's Competition, the San Francisco Choral Artist's New Voices Composition Competition, and the "Juan Bautista Comes" Choral Competition. His works have been performed by ensembles and artists throughout the United States, including the Michigan State University Symphony Band, the Bowling Green State University A Cappella Chorus, the Indiana University Symphonic Band, and the Duke University Wind Symphony. Dr. Jason Vest Dr. Jason Vest was initiated as a Friend of the Arts in March by the Eta Psi Chapter at Northern Kentucky University. Dr. Vest is an Assistant Professor of Voice and Assistant Provost for Special Projects at Northern Kentucky University (NKU). Dr. Vest has worked to reshape the Opera Workshop at NKU, which has provided students with opportunities for collaborative performances. A lyric tenor, he has performed internationally in England, Austria, Bulgaria, and Madagascar. He is a member of Cincinnati's Vocal Arts Ensemble and the Grammy award-winning group, Conspirare, based in Austin, TX. He has been a featured soloist with the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, Stara Zagora Opera in Bulgaria, Amarillo Opera, and the Mexico Liederfest in Monterrey, Mexico. Most recently, he recorded an album of Richard Hundley's songs, which will soon be released through Roven Records. Dr. Vest is a current member of the Vocal Arts Ensemble in Cincinnati, and has played Jean Valjean in Northern Kentucky University production of Les Miserables. He earned his Bachelor of Music from Butler University, a Master's from Brigham Young University, and his Doctorate at the University of Kentucky.
