She has been the cornerstone of her chapter since her initiation in 2012 and, according to her chapter, epitomizes leadership. Service to school and community, sisterhood, and music are important to eta eta, thanks to Heather's efforts. During her multiple terms in office, Heather started two major fundraisers for the chapter which resulted in donations to SAI Philanthropies, Inc., Nicholls State University's Music Department, and area school music programs. She also led the preparations for the chapter's 20 th anniversary celebration in spring 2016. Outside of SAI, Heather served her school as the marching band uniform manager, clarinet section leader, and even started her own business. Although Heather's collegiate career in eta eta has come to an end, she has already sought out membership in the local alumnae chapter and aspires to continue to serve the fraternity in other ways, including as a member of the National Officers Conference. NATIONAL COLLEGIATE LE ADERSHIP AWARD " W ords cannot describe how I feel about receiving the Na onal Collegiate Leadership Award. This is truly an honor I never thought I would receive. When I became a member in training, I was so excited to learn about the fraternity and the awards we offer never once thinking that I would receive one myself. Thank you from the bo om of my heart for choosing me for this honor. It s ll blows my mind that my name was brought up by you all (which in my mind is a total superhero moment)! Sigma Alpha Iota has taught me a great many things. But I think the most important thing I learned was that there is no "I" in team. A er having a few moments to myself at the recep on I realized something. I looked around the room and realized this award is not just for me. It is for all of us. It's for every sister in Theta Theta chapter that challenged me to be a bigger and be er person. It is for my Province Officer, Marci Kraus, who was there to give advice and answer all my silly ques ons. It is for my Regional Officer, Sally McElroy, who chose me out of all the girls in our Region. It is for Jessica Chichester who was there for me for the hardest year there ever was at Theta Theta. It is for Dr. Leslie Odom Miller who told me I could do anything I wanted to and for being a fantas c role model. It is for every other Na onal Officer that I had the pleasure of mee ng at this past Na onal Conven on. It is for Sigma Alpha Iota and its founders, without whom none of us would be connected. Once again, thank you all from the bo om of my heart for this award and changing my life! Without all of you, I would of never of been the person I am today. With much love and many roses, Heather Lire e Stewart Sigma Alpha Iota Sister "
