In the first episode, Stephanie Riley, a Boston Alumnae Chapter Correspondent, chats with Heidi Frankson, Chair of SAI Philanthropies, Inc., the charitable arm of our Fraternity. ey discuss what SAI Philanthropies, Inc. is, what it offers, and how SAI members can get involved to support its programs. Stephanie will be the recurring host for now. "I'm hoping that this endeavor will become a team effort," she said. "One of the things I cherish most about our sisterhood is the chance to connect with sisters across the country. How great of an opportunity this could be to collaborate on a common goal while promoting the Fraternity." When asked about what inspired e 1903, Stephanie shared, "Believe it or not, I got inspired to do a podcast for the Fraternity back in 2009 aer the Chicago Convention. At that time, I had only really thought about it at the local level. Boston Alumnae used to do radio shows in the 1960's, and I was thinking about programming something along those lines and hopefully spotlight the things our chapter was doing. Over the years it developed into an idea of how to promote our Fraternity to a much wider community, to help our collegiate sisters recruit new members, to give recognition to our members across the country doing absolutely amazing work to support music and the Fraternity, and to show how our Fraternity impacts the music world beyond the local level." ere are already plans in the works for future podcasts. Episodes will include a wide variety of topics, such as alumnae life and making the shi from collegiate to alumnae status, discussing different historical aspects of SAI, shining a spotlight on various projects and members, highlighting Fraternity projects — the Composers Bureau, PAN PIPES, Bold Notes — and may even include a live recording at this summer's National Convention!
