The work Highwire Act is featured in the new groundbreaking book "Contemporary Gayageum Notation for Composers" by Ji-young Yi, as an example of innovative technique and notation for the Korean zither. Haegeum performer Soo-yeon Lyuh commissioned a new work for haegeum, cello and janggu. Sori will be premiered in Honolulu in Oct. 2011, with subsequent performances scheduled in the National Gugak Center in Seoul and in Daeggu, South Korea. The Palisades Virtuosi Trio commissioned a new work for flute, clarinet and piano. 'Aina is scheduled to be premiered in March 2012. ROBERT WYKES NEWS: Three Facets of Friendship for flute and clarinet Is on CDs by the SIlverwind Duo as well as the Scott-Garrison Duo. RECORDINGS: Celebrations, a new CD by the St. Louis Symphony Trombone Quartet includes the first recording of Flourishes and Hymn by Robert Wykes. DR. DAVID A. YEAGLEY NEWS: "I am in the process of completing my first symphony: The Four Horses of the Apocalypse: A Comanche Symphony. I continue to write for unaccompanied violin; I have also published a complete, four movement String Quartet. The major event for this Fall is the recording of my film score, Daughter of Dawn, a 2007 commissioned soundtrack for the 1920 silent film Daughter of Dawn. This symphonic work, for which Yeagley was commissioned by the Oklahoma State Historical Society, is 80 minutes of non-stop, non-repetitive music for full orchestra. I have already written a complete Latin mass, Missa Naturalis, a Magnificat, and a Salve Regina, for unaccompanied women's chorus and American Indian flute.
