distinguished members Musically, he is known for creative interpretations, expressive conducting style, and innovative programming.  During the past fifteen years, he has made over 700 appearances as conductor, clinician, or lecturer throughout the United States and many foreign countries. Dr. Sinclair is also a conductor of the Candlelight Processional at EPCOT and has conducted recordings for Warner Brothers, Walt Disney Corporation, Moravian Music Foundation, and numerous Bach Festival recordings. Dr. Sinclair has received many awards while at Rollins including the Hugh F. McKean Teaching Award and Grant, Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Arthur Vining Davis Fellowship.  For two consecutive years, he was selected as the "Outstanding Music Educator of the Year" by United Arts of Central Florida and the Florida International Magazine selected him as one of their "Power Players in the Arts."  Dr. Sinclair founded the Rollins College Community School of Music and the Bach Society's Arts-in-Education program, FreshStARTS, which takes innovative music programs to thousands of public school students in central Florida each year. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from William Jewell College and his Master's and Doctoral degrees from the Conservatory of Music at the University of Missouri in Kansas City.  friend of the arts a man or woman who is supportive of and actively involved in the arts at a local or regional level Don Burt Don Burt was initiated by the Kappa Chapter in December. Don Burt has been an avid support of opera in Lincoln, Omaha, and, specifically, at the University of NebraskaLincoln (UNL). He helped form the group, Burt Friends of Opera, which has raised more than $300,000 for the UNL Opera Program. Burt is an avid supporter of the Nebraska AIDS Project. He staged a production of Les Misérables and, through hard work and generosity, raised $10,000 for the Nebraska AIDS Project. He attends many opera rehearsals and voice recitals at UNL and supports students during the opera's tech week by bringing snacks. He has had a huge impact on the lives of many music students at UNL and in the Lincoln community. Roderick P Dodds . Roderick P. Dodds was initiated by the Milwaukee Alumnae Chapter in November. The son of musicians, Dodds performed with his parents in the Milwaukee area. At Iowa State University, Dodds he performed in the band and jazz band, and his dance band performed throughout the state. While living in Park Ridge, IL, he and wife Dorothy sang in the church choir, and he volunteered with the church's Boy Scout troop. After moving to Springfield, IL, he continued choir singing and joined a cover band, playing at local events. He also joined the Shrine Jazz Band and Clown Band. When he retired, he took Music Theory classes at Lincoln Land Junior College and joined its jazz band. He also performed with the Springfield Community Band and continues to perform with the Shrine Band at age 94. Both his first and second wives, Dorothy Evans Dodds and Margery Winters Dodds, are SAIs, as are daughters Martha Dodds Stoner and Joanne Dodds Erwin and granddaughters Carolyn Dodds Stoner and Emily Dodds Erwin. His choirs have performed in Carnegie Hall on three occasions with the New England Symphonic Ensemble. He is the author of the book, Chamber Music for Solo Voice and Instruments, 1960-1989, published by Fallen Leaf Press/Scarecrow Press. Klaus holds Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Vocal Music Performance and a Doctorate Degree in College Voice Teaching and Choral Music from Louisiana State University. Paul Ferington Paul Ferington was initiated by the Buffalo Alumnae Chapter in November. Now in his 27th year as staff conductor of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO), he conducts community concerts and educational concerts for children. He has developed BPOvation, community lectures on upcoming orchestra projects. As an educator, he was a highly respected professor and administrator for 32 years at Niagara County Community College and currently teaches at the Buffalo State College and serves as music director of the college/community Buffalo State Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition to serving as church organist for 20 years, he is also an accomplished chamber musician and accompanist. Among his awards are the State University of New York Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching and the Artistic Leadership Award from the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra Society, Inc. Carl E. Klingenschmitt Carl E. Klingenschmitt was initiated by the Buffalo Alumnae Chapter in November. A retired electrical engineer, Klingenschmitt has played a significant role in the music climate in Western New York as a member of the Buffalo Klingenschmitt Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO) Education Committee since its inception 20 years ago. Along with Buffalo Alumnae Chapter member Sue Fay Allen, he started the Community Spotlight Program that enables school organizations to perform prior to BPO concerts and to meet with soloists or conductors during intermission. In 2005, the BPO honored him "in recognition of outstanding loyalty, dedication, and service." He is also vice-president of the Clarence (NY) Concert Association. Dr. Kenneth S. Klaus Dr. Kenneth S. Klaus was initiated by the Theta Theta Chapter in December. Dr. Klaus is Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at Nicholls State University and the Director of Music at First United Methodist Church. He previously served as Director of Choral Music at Copiah-Lincoln Community Richard Ortner Richard Ortner was initiated by the Boston Alumnae Chapter in November.
